Overnight Stays:

Hotels and motels are a necessary part of out-of-town travel.  We require that all students follow our rules, as well as any hotel rules and regulations.  We will go over these rules in depth before departure.

Boys are NOT allowed in girls’ rooms, and girls are NOT allowed in boys’ rooms-THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Room Lists:

As with bus lists, a staff member will post blank room lists on the board before we depart.  Students are to sign up 4 girls to a room and 4 boys to a room.  This rooming list will remain in effect for further trips, but may be altered with the number of students on each trip.

Chaperones:

Chaperones traveling with the Band will be assigned a handful of rooms to check in on during the trip.  It is recommended that chaperones provide their room number and/or cell number to their rooms to be sure students can always contact their assigned chaperone…that is left up to the chaperone.

Chaperones will make rounds in the evenings to make sure his/her students are aware of the following day’s schedule, and to tape the students in their room.  They make rounds the following morning to be sure their students are up and ready to depart on time.

Mrs. Jansky, the secretary at Pine Forest High School, is a notary and will be able to notarize your permission slips free of charge during school office hours. If you want to call ahead to make sure Mrs. Jansky will be there, the phone number for Pine Forest is 941-6150

To be an adult chaperone/Civic Center concession worker, or hold any other position where you deal with students, you must have a red collar shirt. This shirt, with Pine Forest logos, can be ordered from the Band Boosters at a cost of $20.

                                   PROCEEDURES AND RULES FOR TRAVELING:

The Band does a lot of traveling.  There might be times where we will be on the road almost every weekend because of football play-off games.

There are many rules and regulations regarding trips away from the School.  Trying to transport over 100 students, parents, staff, and truckloads of equipment requires extraordinary precision and total cooperation from everyone involved.  Please realize that the following rules are not limited to long bus trips!

CONDUCT: Act like ladies and gentlemen at all times; on the field, in the mall, in the airport, or in the public restroom at a theme park in another state.  People will form an opinion of the entire Pine Forest High School Band based on one band member’s behavior.  We hope to make it a favorable opinion.

APPEARANCE:  Be neat and attractive at all times.  Dress codes will be explained prior to departure and will be based on the circumstances involved.

ALCOHOL AND DRUGS: Escambia County School Board rules and regulations concerning alcohol and drug use will apply whether we are here at home or out on the road.

TOBACCO: Use of tobacco products will not be permitted.

PUBLIC AFFECTION: Excessive displays of affection will not be permitted at any time.  Students will receive one warning, and any further offences will result in separation for the rest of the trip.   There is zero tolerance for ANY public displays of affection while in uniform.
